Not long after arriving at DA I decided that my favorites collection should be used to represent my own subjective taste.  You can learn a lot about someone by looking at what they collect.  I consider it a virtual wall, much the same as a real wall in my home.  What goes into my favorites is what I would hang on my wall.  I see a lot of great photos, and comment on many, but not all of them will hang on my wall.  If I were to add photos just to be friendly you would not know what my real taste is and would have less of an understanding about me.

An American retired and living in Thailand. The majority of my photos are taken in Bangkok, but there are some collections from other parts of the country. I don’t limit myself to any particular genre, but do prefer all things urban. My preference is to capture things in the moment, rather than spending a lot of time setting up for and/or staging a shot. Most of my images are captured during photo walks, looking for anything interesting to try and capture.

My father was a commercial photographer, so I've been around it from a very young age. I started in B&W film when I was 16 and even had my own darkroom. In my late twenties I gave up photography as a serious hobby and didn't get back into it until a couple of years ago. The basics haven't changed, but digital adds a new layer that I've had to come up to speed on.

I'm not the greatest photographer that ever lived, but hopefully you will like a few of my shots. :-)

Canon EOS Rebel T2i (550D) and Rebel SX (1000D) with EF-S 50 1.8 II, EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS kit, EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS and Sigma 8-16mm 4.5-5.6 HSM lenses. Olympus E-10, Fuji S2000HD, Nikon Coolpix S200, Nikon Coolpix 990.

Current Residence: Pattaya, Thailand
Personal Quote: Photos are where you find them

I'm referring to your comment on #Photography Universe, and I have to say that you're totally right.
All of us are forced to join some groups if we want other people to see our work, but my general oppinion is that most group administrators enjoy a fact that they have a power to refuse someone, not to mention that some of them hardly know anything about art.
I had been refused few times with no real reason, and when I asked why I discovered that some group administrators are like a bad bureaucracy - people which I asked don't know the reason but they can't change anything.
In the end I have to say that I'm sorry that group's administrator hasn't even respond to your comment.
I wish you and your members more luck with your group. :)
